We at Katipunan PSO would like to invite you to a brand new sports tournament here at UCR. On the day of Saturday, May 3rd we will be hosting an All-Day Basketball and Dodgeball Tournament. Come out and compete against your fellow UCR students for huge giant awesome trophies and most importantly... bragging rights!
In addition to the normal tournament there will have spirit awards that we will be given to the student org, frat, sorority or whatever that shows the most spirit and energy and sportsmanship throughout the days' events.
So get a team or two together and submit a registration packet and don't forget to read the rules for whatever sport you want to compete in.

So PCN is now over, congratulations to all that took part. A big thanks to everyone that helped to put on a great performance. And of course a special thanks to Ashley Navarro and Liberty Dela Cruz for spearheading a great PCN.

Blood Drive
Blood Drive is going on TODAY Wednesday, February 20th from 9am to 3pm. Come out and donate blood near Olmstead at the Blood Mobile.
Executive Cabinet Elections
Thank You to all applicants for Executive Cabinet positions. However the position of Treasurer currently has no applicants, therefore applications for the position will be extended until the end of the week on Friday, February 22. Applications should be sent to Lloyd Lacayanga at llaca001@student.ucr.edu. The application form is due by Tuesday March 4 and can be downloaded -here-
Film Night
Come see "Bontoc Eulogy". A touching documentary film about a man from the Igorot tribe which inspired the dances we practice for our PCN. The film will be shown Thursday, February 21st at ENGRII 143, time TBD.
Triple Threat Clubbing Event
It's time for another Triple Threat Mixer! What is Triple Threat you ask? It is the collaboration of UCR Katipunan, Lubos Paso of CSUSB and Cal Poly Pomona Barkada and we'll be holding a club event at Club Avalon in Hollywood this Friday, February 22nd from 9pm to 1am. Carpools will be provided. Cover is $10 for members and $12 for non-members.
Katipunan Sweatshirts
The deadline for designs for this years Katipunan sweatshirts is THIS Friday ans should be sent to rlaca001@student.ucr.edu. Here's your chance to have your work be part of Katipunan.
Matutor
Matutor is held every Monday from 2pm to 5pm at 2nd Floor of Rivera Library. It is a good time to get work done, get help in your classes and fulfill those PCN Library Hours.

PCN Requirements
- SELL your program ads to family, businesses, or yourself if you want to give shoutouts. You can get Ad Applications from Ashley Jo Navarro. You must sell at least $100 worth.
- SELL your 10 tickets at least. If you can't sell all your ads then sell more tickets. Or if you have a huge family sell tickets to them. If you haven't already gotten tickets they are available from Liberty and Ashley
- ATTEND at least 3 Katipunan events. Take a look at this announcement and your e-mail for Katipunan related events. There will be a PCN sign in sheet at events, if you don't see it then just ask a cabinet member for it. Make sure to stay for the event and not just sign and leave.
Other PCN Jobs
If you're interested in being a part of PCN but don't have time to dance or act then you can sign up for Prop & Stage Committee with Kat Herrera or Costume Committee with Liberty Dela Cruz or BOTH.
Library Hours
Remembers 5 Library Hours are required each week and they DO NOT roll over onto other weeks.

Feb. 19-23: Highlander Games All Week!
Katipunan is participating in UCR's annual "Highlander Games" in preparation for Homecoming this Saturday. We are asking ALL members to join in to help us win 1st Place prize of $500 and a nice shiny trophy. Check your e-mail for details on each day's events/
Feb. 28: "2 Million"
PST and Katipunan present "2 Million." A commemoration and education on the events of the EDSA revolution. It will be held Thursday, February 28 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Costo Hall Lower Rooms I/II.
Mondays at 5PM: PST Collective Meetings
PST Collective is holding their meetings every Monday at 5PM at the APSP office, Costo Hall Rm 244.

Katipunan Experience 2008
Katipunan Experience is fast approaching, but there is still spots left so if you have any family or friends in High School that are interested in finding more about college then get a hold of Dominic or any member of cabinet. It is open to students of any age, you don't just have to be an upperclassmen.
Broom Balling!
Broomballing is tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 9:30pm in Ontario at the Center Ice Arena. If you don't know what Broomballing is.. well it's basically hockey without skates and its a chance to get to know other members of Katipunan. You can get tickets from cab members for $7.
Staff Pro Training
If you've ever wondered what it's like to be security at concerts and events like Vibe XIII or Heat then now's your chance! Katipunan will be going to a training workshop this coming Sunday to find out how. The workshop will be in Huntington at 10am, carpools will be available if you need a ride.
Executive Cabinet Elections
Nominations for next years Executive Cabinet positions are coming up. You MUST be a paid Katipunan member in order to VOTE and/or RUN for a position. If you're not yet a paid member then see our Treasurer Kristina Deleon. Nominations will be held Thursday, February 7th
Sweatshirts
Just like last year we will be having our very own Katipunan sweatshirts. We're giving any and all members a chance to design this year's sweater. If you have a design then send it over to rlaca001@student.ucr.edu.
PCN Library Hours
Remember if you're participating in PCN then you must complete 5 library hours a week. Just sign in at the binders at either Science Library or Rivera Library to get credit.
Lunar New Year Night Market
Join other organizations as we celebrate the YEAR OF THE RAT! Enjoy food, games and live performances at the Belltower from 6 to 9pm on Tuesday, February 5th.
PCN Saturday Practices
Just a reminder that there will be PCN practices every Saturday at Highland Park from 10am to 4pm. Saturday practices are weigh more than Dance 180J so to ensure you can the dances you want then make sure to come to practice.

01.14.08PCN Has Begun!
Alright people the preperation for this year's PCN has finally begun! With the beginning of the greatest 3 months of your life comes the general schedule.
DANCE 180J
The schedule for Dance 180J has been finalized and will be held MWF in ARTS 100 from 6-8pm. Attendance will be taken promptly at 6:15 so be on time because your attendance counts for 60% of your grade for the class. Also everyone doing PCN must attend DANCE 180J because that is where we will be learning the ALL of the dances. We will be casting in a couple weeks so you really don't want to fall behind. In addition ACTORS will have their practices from 8-10PM on Monday in PE 102 and Wednesday in ARTS 202 and will be directed by your Cultural Chair Ashley Navarro.
PCN Saturday Practices
In addition to DANCE 180J there will be practices every Saturday from 10am to 4pm, location TBD. Saturday practices will be reviewing the dances from 180J. Honestly the dances this year will be harder than what has been done in the past so the more time you have to practice the better. PRACTICES WILL BEGIN THIS COMING SATURDAY, JANUARY 19
Library Hours
Those participating in PCN are going to be required to do library hours for Katipunan. You will be required to do 5 hours a week beginning today, January 14. There will be a Katipunan binder in both the Science and Rivera libraries to log when you do your library hours and will be tallied up by your Academic Chair, Kat Herrera.
Tinikling Tappers
If you're interested in being a part of Tinikling for this year's PCN then you're in luck because there are still spots left for tappers (they're the ones that hold the sticks). So if you are interested then get a hold of Liberty ASAP.

11.17.07PCN DVD Update
Hey everyone, just a small update on PCN DVDs. I talked to Lolo Louie and he told me that PCN DVDs should be done before everyone goes home for Christmas break. However I can't promise it for sure, but please be a little more patient and we will get the DVDs to you as soon as possible. Thank you everyone for being very very patient on this mater!
